When I was back home in the rural town of Watertown, NY, home of the pine tree Car Freshener, we had just three radio stations. One was an top 40 station with a forever changing name, one was a country station called FROGGY, and the third was a classic rock station. The station was called CIZ93FM. They played a lot of Fleetwood Mac and Journey. After a while, people complained that the name was too long so they shortened it to Z93FM. Those two letters made all the difference. Just think, one minute you’re living your life cleaning out septic tanks, then someone asks what you’re listening to and suddenly you’re wondering where it all went and you’re old and decrepit, all your friends are gone, there’s nobody left, it’s over. So everyone agreed to just remove a few letters and plus the Z looked really cool.
