January 12th, Prepare Your Ass for a Thrashing

I know I don’t talk openly about my life on this blog very often but…

I AM OPENING FOR DAVE HILL!

Again. I opened for him back in February as well. I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. Dave is one of the nicest people alive. For example: My friend and I went to see Diamondsnake open for Reverend Horton Heat in NYC during the spring and he brought us beers from backstage and even hung out for a bit.

I wasn’t satisfied with my set the first time I opened for him and have worked hard on writing newer, better stuff. I think I’ve done that. Now, on January 12th, I’m getting a do-over. This time it’ll be different. How and why? My comedy writing has gotten about 100% better. I’m more creative now than I’ve ever been. I’m more confident in myself on stage and off. I can honestly say I attribute this betterment to my newfound sobriety. On July 19th I quit drinking. I’m not anti-drinking or drug use. Some people find it helps creativity. I feel like a comet without it. Granted, I’m still very shy and reserved. Read: monotone. That’s naturally the kind of person I am. Because Momma Eastman raised a gentleman. At least now I can think clearly again.

What I’m trying to say here is that I’m prepared to wow the shit out of everyone. Every single ass in the room is getting a thrashing. And that’s saying a lot because those asses will probably be in chairs. Cinderella Story. Comeback kid. It’ll be like Rocky 3. No, it’ll be like Rocky 4. No, it’ll be like 8 Mile.

Anyway, if you’re in Philadelphia on January 12th come and see us. I promise I’ll be better than ever. If you’ve kept up with my blog at all you’d realize that. Jesus. My friend Nikki Walter (@TurboGrandma on Twitter) will also be opening. She’s very funny and cool. Also, Dave Hill is performing. This show is only $10 at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia and they do serve alcohol. It’ll be fun so go.
